Getting Started on Keen: Your First Reading & What to Expect
New to Keen? You’re in the right place. Getting your first reading can feel exciting — and sometimes a little uncertain, too. Here are answers to common questions to help you feel confident and get the most out of your experience.
What do I need to do to have my first reading?
Getting started is simple:
- Create your Keen account by registering here
- Add a payment method and then add funds to your account-- if this is your first time using Keen, you'll only need to add $1 to start your first reading!
- Choose an Advisor-- more on that in the next section!
- Start a call or chat reading directly from their listing
How do I find an Advisor that’s the right fit for me?
You can feel confident choosing the Advisor that feels right to you — our Advisors are skilled at guiding customers at every stage, including those who are just getting started.
Here are a few ways to find your first match:
- Browse by topic (Love and Relationships is our most popular!) and filter by your budget, skills and specialties, and more!
- Check out customer reviews and Advisor listings to get a feel for their style-- some even have video intros!
- Make lists of Advisors you might want to talk to or try another time by selecting the heart icon on their listing;. You can review your Favorites or other custom lists here.
What should I ask my Advisor?
Start with what matters most to you. You don’t need perfect questions — just a clear intention.
- Focus on one or two areas where you want clarity (love, career, life decisions, etc.)
- Ask open-ended questions to get more meaningful insight
- Share a bit of context so your Advisor can better guide you
- Be ready to provide a few basics up front, like your first name and date of birth (many Advisors use this for astrology), and the same for anyone you’re asking about
Most importantly, trust your instincts and be open — your Advisor is here to help, whether you know exactly what you’re looking for or are still figuring it out.
How does billing work on Keen?
- New customers typically receive a promotional offer for $1 for your first 5 minutes with select Advisors
- After that, you’ll be charged at the Advisor’s regular per-minute rate
- You’ll only be billed up to the amount you’ve added to your balance (either before your reading or if you add more during it)
- There are no membership fees or recurring costs — you only pay when you choose to have a reading
What if I don’t get what I was hoping out of my first reading?
Sometimes a first reading might not feel exactly how you expected — and that’s okay. It’s not on you, and we’re here to help make things better.
