Advisor User Guidelines
Last Updated: 10/14/2026
We are thrilled to have you as part of Keen's trusted network of talented spiritual advisors. With your guidance, seekers of advice have gained clarity on Keen for over 20 years.
As part of our commitment at Keen, we are dedicated to ensuring that our platform remains safe and engaging for everyone. That's why we’ve created this article to supplement the Keen User Agreement and its corresponding policies. Our goal is to provide a snapshot of key policy highlights to make it easier to understand our expectations and keep everyone safe. Above any one specific policy, it’s important that everyone on Keen be treated with respect.
There are some instances in which our team may reach out to give a friendly reminder about conduct on Keen. Other times, we must take more serious action depending on the situation. It's important that you feel knowledgeable and clear on some of our most basic rules.
If you’d like more insight into where the guidelines below came from, check out the Keen User Agreement and its subsections: Privacy Policy, User Services Rules Policy, Refund Policy, Payment Policy, Feedback Policy, Photo Policy, Chat Policy, Anti-Spam Policy and Adult Content Policy.
Guidelines for Advisors
- You must be at least 18 to use Keen. If you happen to connect with an underage user and they tell you their age, please end the conversation and let us know.
- There are also some topics involving minors that advisors should not provide advice about. This includes situations in which a minor may be in danger, such as domestic violence or grooming, as well as situations where a user expresses a romantic interest in a minor.
- Keen is a place for spiritual advice, not professional medical or legal services. Advisors may not diagnose illnesses, recommend treatments or medications, provide medical predictions, or offer legal advice or predictions. Please keep in mind that advice or predictions about pregnancy are considered medical topics.
- Financial and investment advice is also off-limits. Please don’t advise customers about buying or selling securities or investments, their value, or provide financial planning services.
- Advisors may not provide lottery numbers or offer services related to gambling, gaming, or sports betting. Multi-level marketing and similar "get rich quick" services or promotions also aren’t allowed.
- Keen allows respectful conversations about sexual wellness when they’re genuinely focused on seeking or providing advice, but Adult Content is not permitted. Please don’t engage in sexually explicit or suggestive conversations intended for sexual arousal or gratification, sexual solicitation, or other pornographic or obscene content. Sexual content involving minors is never allowed.
- Please don’t promise that you can guarantee or change a customer's future through something you do on their behalf. Services involving spells, curses, or negative energy removal are not permitted on Keen.
- Along those same lines, your services should never require a customer to purchase physical items from you or anyone else. This includes things like candles, crystals, oils, herbs, bath salts, tobacco, or similar products.
- Your customers are paying to connect with you, so the advice you provide during paid sessions should come from you. AI-generated responses may not be used during paid sessions. Basic spelling and grammar tools are okay if you need a little help polishing your writing.
- We take it seriously when we find out that an advisor is using Keen to direct users elsewhere, especially to provide paid services outside our platform. Please don’t ask customers for their personal contact information or social media and messaging usernames, and don’t provide yours. You also shouldn’t direct customers to competitive services or ask them to pay you through a third-party payment service. Paid interactions between Keen users need to stay on Keen.
- Please don’t ask customers for donations or contributions, whether directly or by suggesting that they will receive something in exchange for one.
- Services should be provided only to the customer who owns the account. If you learn that someone other than the account-holder is receiving the service, or that multiple people are participating in the same conversation to receive advice, please end the conversation and let us know.
- As with your customers, nobody should be accessing your account but you. Please keep your account, contact, identity, and payment information accurate and up to date, and never allow someone else to provide services using your account or identity.
- Treat customers, fellow advisors, and other users with respect. Harassment, threats, discriminatory or abusive behavior and repeated unwanted contact aren’t allowed. This also includes sending an unreasonable number of messages without a response or using Keen messaging services to send spam.
- Be kind to our Customer Support team. They want to help, especially when you're stressed and need it most. Just remember, there's a human on the other side when you contact us. We especially appreciate your patience with our new agents as they learn how to better assist you.
- Please don’t manipulate the feedback system. This includes offering anything of value in exchange for positive feedback, lashing out at customers for posting less-than-perfect feedback, boosting your feedback with alternate accounts or third parties, and disconnecting from customers simply to prevent a conversation from becoming eligible for feedback. Sending a hostile message to a customer because of a review they posted is never okay.
- Please keep your listings relevant to the services you provide and place them in the appropriate categories. Please don’t create frivolous or repetitive listings across multiple categories, or use listings to redirect customers in a way that gets around Keen or other agreements that apply to your account. Keen's limits on the number and types of listings you can create also still apply.
- Listings and Keen communications shouldn’t be used for spam, chain letters, mass solicitations, recruiting, or directing users to participate on other websites.
- Please don’t use Keen to promote giveaways, random drawings, prizes, contests, or games of chance.
- When your status is set to "available," please make a reasonable effort to respond to customers who reach out. Of course, you are always in control of when you choose to make yourself available.
- Please don’t use your listings to vent, whether it’s about other users, their feedback, or Keen itself. Your listings should be a place for you to share your talents and experiences. If you’re having trouble with a policy-related issue, please reach out to Play Fair.
In our mission to make Keen a safe space, we seek to educate our users about our policies and related decisions whenever possible. There are, however, circumstances in which our policy team will be unable to go into detail about a specific situation or action. We appreciate your understanding.
Thank you again for being part of our advisor community and for adhering to the policies that help make Keen a safe and welcoming space for spiritual advice.
